For individuals seeking status in Canada

Let’s find your way to Canada, together.

With many ways to come to Canada and rules that keep changing, it’s easy to feel lost. Tell us about yourself in your own words, and we’ll show you which paths could work, what’s missing, and what to do next.

  • Type or talk, whatever’s easier
  • Go at your own pace
  • Built on lawyer-approved rules

Pointing to Express Entry

Sound familiar?

Immigration can feel like a maze. It doesn’t have to.

“Where do I even start?”

There are dozens of programs, each with its own rules. We ask the right questions, so you don’t have to know them all.

“What does all this jargon mean?”

CRS, NOC, LMIA, ECA… We explain everything in everyday words, right when it comes up.

“What if I get something wrong?”

You can change any answer. Your assessment is checked against rules our lawyers approve, and a lawyer reviews anything unusual before it reaches you.

That’s why we built Global Compass: talking to us should feel like talking to a friend who happens to know Canadian immigration inside out.

How it works

Not sure yet?

Tell us about yourself and we’ll look at which goals could make sense for you.

Personal assessment

Not covered yet

We’d rather be honest than guess. These aren’t part of our assessments yet:

  • Quebec’s own immigration programs
  • Programs in the three territories
  • Some provincial skilled-worker and graduate programs
  • Employers hiring staff (that’s Global Compass Organizations)

If one of these is you, start anyway. We’ll gather your details and point you to a lawyer who can help.

Your assessment

Your report, in plain words

No legal jargon and no guesswork. Each section answers a simple question, and every finding tells you exactly why.

  • Clear labels like “Looks good” or “Need more info”
  • What you told us, kept apart from what’s been checked
  • Next steps you can actually take
Global CompassGlobal Immigration StrategyYour direction, in detail Sample assessment
Sample: Amina, 34, software engineer (made up)

Amina, your answers suggest a direction worth investigating. Here’s why, and what to do next.

You’re aiming for permanent residence through your software work. Your seven years of experience, English results and assessed degree give you an estimated 72 of 100 selection points, above the 67-point pass mark. Your estimated ranking score is about 402. Below, we’ve set out how a provincial nomination or a French test would change that estimate.

Paths worth investigating
  • 72of 100 skilled worker points
  • 402ranking score, estimated

Straight talk

Four different questions. We never mix them up.

A lot of confusion comes from treating these as one question. They aren’t.

1

Do you qualify?

Do you meet a program’s basic requirements? We check each one and show you why.

2

How do you rank?

Some programs score and rank people. Qualifying and ranking are different, so we keep them apart.

3

Is there room right now?

Programs open, pause and close. We tell you what we know, with dates, never a made-up forecast.

4

Will it be approved?

Only the government decides that. Anyone who promises you an approval isn’t being straight with you.

Questions

Things people often ask us

Still wondering about something? Start the conversation; there’s a place for your own questions too.

Is this legal advice?

No. Global Compass gives you general information and a preliminary assessment to help you understand your options. If you want legal advice for your situation, you can book a consultation with a qualified professional.

Who checks my assessment?

Our lawyers approve the rules the assessment is built on. When your answers raise anything unusual, such as a close deadline, a past refusal or something that needs judgment, a lawyer reviews your assessment before it’s released. The free preview is automatic and says so.

Do I need an account?

No, you can start right away. Your answers are saved on this device as you go. Create a free account if you want to come back from another phone or computer.

What if I make a mistake in my answers?

Just change it. You review everything before you confirm, and if you change an answer later, we prepare a fresh assessment.

How up to date is the information?

Our rules come from official Government of Canada and provincial sources, and every report shows the date they were checked. Rules can change quickly, so we re-read those pages every day and a lawyer reviews every change that matters.

Can you guarantee I’ll get in?

No one honestly can. We’ll tell you what looks promising, what’s missing and what could make your case stronger, but only the government makes the decision.

What happens to my information?

Your assessment answers, account and report are stored on servers in Canada, in Montreal, and reach us over an encrypted connection. We use your answers to prepare your assessment. Only Greenberg Hameed’s team can open your answers: the lawyers who review assessments and the people who run Global Compass. Anyone else, such as another professional for a consultation, sees them only with your consent. Payments go through PayPal, so your card details go to PayPal, never to us. If you answer by voice, your browser’s own speech service turns it into text and may process it outside Canada. Google Analytics measures selected public pages automatically, except where your browser retains a recorded rejection or has Global Privacy Control enabled. Your assessment answers and account details are not sent to it. Google may process analytics information outside Canada. Your browser may provide additional cookie and privacy controls. You can review and change your answers at any time.

Ready when you are.
