Maria: What comes after graduation?

Fictional illustrative scenario. Results and immigration outcomes depend on individual circumstances.

Maria
I'm Maria. I came to Canada to study, graduated, and found a job in Vancouver. I thought I was doing everything right. But my post-graduation work permit expires in nine months, and I still haven't received an invitation for permanent residence. Should I improve my French? Change occupations? Consider another province? I've invested so much in building my future here. I don't want to make the wrong decision now.
